Daad is for ضفدع (a frog) and Saad for صديق (a friend)

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

Alhamdulillaah this week started again with nice moments with sister Ummu Abdillaah, A and M in the Park. Kids made a nice poster about friends. We started this at the park and finished at home. Boys painted their hands, Z added their names at home by the help of dots and we added also letter Saad. I don`t know how Z`s hand looks like he has many fingers - I think he continued to color it after painted it? :)

At the park kids started also worksheets. Z continued at home but not finished yet.

Nowdays he can do quite good letters when he concentrates, but he wants to do only one or two well and then he starts to do them messy. Sometimes he colors them etc. There are huge difference between these two letters and them are both made by Z. But I think that in this point the most important thing is that he likes to do them and feels that learning is fun.

For letter Saad we took also theme fasting صيام  and pray صلاة  . These are really important themes, but in this week I only introduced them for Z in short way for he could link them to letter Saad. I do like that because I would like to learn more about these themes with kids in Ramadan inshaaAllaah.

For letter Daad I choosed a frog ضفدع. We made before one simple circle about the life cycle of the frog. It can find from here.  I found a nice idea for frog thema from here. There are also a nice fish and many other nice ideas. These can print somehow, but I tried to draw the frog by myself.

Then we played this wooden puzzle. First in normal way...

 

and then we used pieces for drawing. Z liked this a lot! At first he used pencil, because we had to repair some difficult places little bit.

Here the body is already done - it`s not good to leave the body last one :). I only wanted to demonstrate how we used pieces and when Z draw and concentrated deeply I didn`t want to disturb him.

Then Z made lines by ink.

He wanted also color the frog.

S demonstrated the life cycle of the frog like that. This frog is an old toy. It`s like elastic jolly :).

Then our experience: we tried some items, if they sink or float on the water. I found from here a really nice idea for a frog theme sensory sink! Our experience was little different, but I wanted to add the idea of sensory sink too. In the same blog there is also a really nice sensority sink about theme sink or float, check here.

And how about our frog? It floats :).

It also sticks on the bath :).

I found many other good ideas for thema frog, but because of lack of time and materials I didn`t try these. But maybe some else would like to try, so I add them here too.

letter Siin and Shiin

                           
                            Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

At first I'd like to writelittle bit  about our plan for Ramadan with sister Ummu Karim inshaAllah. In Ramdan time we don't want add new Letters. Last time we learnt with 2 letters in one week, I think it is not enough to learn 2 diffrent letters in 1 week. But we did it because in Ramadan we'll not spend time more for them inshaAllah.

We'll take "5 pillars in Islam "  like basic theme inshaAllah. And we can review during Ramadan all our letters with themes inshaAllah.

InshaAllah I'll write all about these next time too.

How sister Ummu Karim already wrote that we started at the park new Letters Siin for Samaka-fish and Sheen for Shams-sun, and kids started simple activities and we finished at home.

This kind of fishing set is little difficult than magnetic, but it is good for more concentration and learning more inshaAllah.

And today we go for fishing. It was my first fishing and caught 3 fishs)). The fisrt was so small, than medium than little bigger.

A car سيارة and some another activities

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

In this week one of Z`s favorite subjects have been a car سيارة. There are some of our activities about that theme and also some other activities we`ve done on this week.

We`ve started to prepare for Ramadan. We made with kids some lanterns as a decoration. These are really easy to do. Only color a paper or use a color paper. Then cut the lines like in this picture and secure for example by rivet machine.

 

Kids made many of them. They made even more after I took the picture :).

 

We haven`t use Mini Luko for a while, so I made a new game for it. Now it`s easier, when we`ve studied more letters. This is really handmade and I can`t draw, but it was like revision for the letters and words. And idea for you readers, how could prepare the games at home. I`ve introduce the idea of Mini Luko game more here.

 

 

 

 

 

For math we used this book.

 

There I found some games, which would be good for our another themes, like butterfly...

 

 

... and for theme "animals".

 

This was nice for our thema "car"! But also quite difficult!

I made for Z a letter road for his car. His car is little big for the road, but he liked it :). I found idea from here. From there can also print roads somehow. I think that it would be also nice to make big letter roads by street chalk :)!

 

 

 

In this week we also had some fun in Linnanmäki. Now I don`t add many pictures because I already introduced the place once. But there are some.

 

Z drove again by a car many times :).

 

In this time Z went to this high tower with K and his dad. I don`t like high places, so last time we didn`t go there :). They told me that Helsinki looks beautiful from there :)!

 

Baby I went first time to this kind of equipment with his dad.

 

I wanted to add some information about Linnanmäki, because we saw some kids really unhappy there... For nearly all equipments Z liked, child need to be over 100cm tall and they seemed to be really tight for that! Some kids cried, when they didn`t let them to go. For example one boy, aproximately 99cm, wanted to drive the car and he could not. Alhamdulillaah Z is just little more than 100cm, but they mesured him too many times, but let him go. In every equipment there is a measure. I wanted to tell this to avoid to be disappointed.

I made for kids a really simple rose ice cream cake by this kind of silicon casserole.

 

At firs I smelted some cooking chokolade (I like Fazer) and applied it to casserole. Then I putted the casserole to freezer about 5 minutes. Then added ice cream and chokolade sauce and putted back to freezer for about 2-3 hours. After that I removed the casserole carefully. Kids already ordered this kind of cake for Eid :)! S wanted to add strawberries too.

 

 

 

 

Then in the end one proposal for easy meal. I love this kind of stuffed sweet peppers!
